PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The project involved the construction of a cantilevered double skin in glass block for an industrial building.
THE PROBLEM. The length of the facade resulted in significant movements due to thermal expansion, which were challenging for a glass block wall contained within a steel structure, supported by a cantilevered wooden roof.
THE SOLUTION. After careful study, invisible joints were created in the glass fields and sliding joints between the glass and steel, using layers of felt and Teflon.
